Google Updates Chrome for Windows, Linux

Last Friday, Google released a new version, 25.0.1364.152, of its Chrome browser for Mac OS X.  The release announcement was unusually terse, with more information promised for this week   That information has now arrived, with the release of version 25.0.1364.152 for Windows and Linux.  The Mac version was., apparently, released early becuase of the severity of a specific bug, which sometimes caused the browser to crash.  The new version, for all platforms, also addresses ten identified security vulnerabilities.  Google rates six of these as High severity, three as Medium severity, and one as Low.  Further information is available in the Release Announcement, which also applies to the Mac version already released.

Because of the security content of this release, I recommend that you update your systems as soon as you conveniently can.   Windows and Mac users can get the new version via the built-in update mechanism; Linux users should check their distribution’s repositories for the new version.
