Today is the opening of the Summer Science Exhibition 2011, by the Royal Society at its London headquarters in Carlton House Terrace. (The Royal Society, founded in 1660, is the oldest scientific society in the English-speaking world, and has just celebrated its 350th year.) The exhibition, which is open from today through July 10, features 22 exhibits in different areas of science:
- Engineering and Technology
In addition to the exhibits, the Society has organized a number of events during this period, including panel discussions and “meet the scientists” receptions.
The site also has visitor information and directions to the Royal Society, at 6 Carlton House Terrace, London SW1, just off Pall Mall, a short distance from St James’s Square.
If you are not able to get to the Royal Society in person, the web site has an overview of the exhibits, with a brief description of each.
