Opera software has released a new version of its Opera browser, version 11.10, for Mac OS X, Linux/UNIX, and Windows. The new version incorporates a number of bug fixes and stability improvements, as well as some new features, including:
- A new “Presto” 2.8 rendering engine
- Support for Google’s WebP image format
- URL Filter API for Extensions
- Plug-in installation wizard
There are numerous other additions and improvements; the change logs and release notes have more details for Windows, Linux/UNIX, and Mac OS X.
You can obtain the new version using the built-in update mechanism (Help > Check for Updates); Linux users should be able to get the updated package using the standard package management tools (e.g., Synaptic). Alternatively, you can download a complete installation package.
