Adobe has released new versions of its popular Reader and Acrobat software, version 9.4.1. This addresses the same security vulnerability as the recent Flash Player update, as well as some other bug fixes. More detailed information is available in Adobe’s Security Bulletin [APSB 10-28]. The update is available now for for Mac OS X and Windows systems. UNIX / Linux users will have to wait a little longer:
An update for Adobe Reader users on UNIX is expected to be available on November 30, 2010.
You can get the new version by means of the built-in update mechanism (Menu: Help / Check for Updates). Alternatively, you can download the update (note that this is just an update, not a complete installation, and requires that you have version 9.4 already installed) from these links:
I recommend that you install this update as soon as you conveniently can. Reader is now, because it is installed on so many machines across multiple platforms, one of the top targets for malware.
