Adobe Systems has released a “Prenotification” of the security patches it intends to release next Tuesday, October 5. (This date is one week ahead of Adobe’s scheduled date for updates, which was October 12. No further updates are planned on that date.) The updates will address several Critical security issues, including the vulnerability in Flash Player, fixed on September 20, and the vulnerability reported in early September, and described in Adobe Security Advisory APSA10-02.
I will post again when the updates are actually available. Because of the cross-platform popularity of Adobe’s products, they are popular targets for malware, and there are reports that these vulnerabilities are being actively exploited. I encourage you to plan to update your systems.
