In keeping with its usual schedule, Microsoft today released the Security Bulletin Advanced Notification for June, 2010. The company plans to issue ten security bulletins next Tuesday, June 8; three of these have a maximum security rating of Critical, and seven are rated as Important. All supported versions of Windows are affected by at least one Critical vulnerability. Other affected software includes Microsoft Office and its components, and Microsoft’s SharePoint services. The table below gives the breakdown by software version and severity.
|Windows Server 2003||1||4||2|
|Windows Server 2008||1||4||2|
|Windows Server 2008 R2||1||4||2|
|Share Point Server||—||1||—|
The counts are approximate, because some of the bulletins may apply in more than one category (e.g., in both Windows and Office), depending on the system’s configuration. Many of these updates will require a system reboot.
As usual, I will post a note here once the final updates have been released next Tuesday.
