Microsoft Black Tuesday Preview, May 2010

May 6, 2010

As is its custom, Microsoft today released its Security Bulletin Advanced Notification for this month, giving an overview of the security patches it expects to release next Tuesday, May 11.   This month, there are two bulletins, and associated patches, expected to be released. The first affects all supported versions of Microsoft Windows, and is rated Critical for all versions except Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2, for which it is rated Important.  The second bulletin affects Microsoft Office and Visual Basic for Applications, and is rated Critical.

As usual, Microsoft will replace the Advanced Notification with the actual Security Bulletin Summary when the bulletins and fixes are released next Tuesday.  I’ll post a note here once the final version is actually released.
