HP Battery Recall

Hewlett-Packard (HP) has recalled approximately 70,000 laptop lithium-ion batteries,  because they may pose a fire hazard.  (We’ve seen similar recalls by other manuifacturers in the past.)  The recall applies to both HP and Compaq branded laptops.  The Consumer Product Safety Commission has a press release detailing the models involved in the recall, and including information on how to identify them.  HP’s page summarizing the recall program is here.
