Firefox, Thunderbird Updated Again

It was just this past Tuesday that Mozilla released new versions of its Firefox browser and Thunderbird E-mail client.  Now new versions, Firefox 3.6.15 and Thunderbird 3.1.9, have been released.  These are apparently bug fix releases, to address a crash in Thunderbird, and a problem with Java applets in Firefox.  Further information is in the Release Notes for Firefox and Thunderbird.

Microsoft Patch Tuesday Preview, March 2011

As usual, Microsoft issued its Security Bulletin Advanced Notification for March this week, detailing the security patches it intends to release next Tuesday, March 8.  This month, there will be a total of three patches.  Two of these are for Windows, one rated Critical, the other Important.  All supported versions of Windows have at least one patch.  The third patch is for Microsoft Groove, a component of Microsoft Office, and is rated Important. Microsoft says that these patches may require a system restart.

As always, the details of the patches are subject to change between now and their release next Tuesday.  I will post a note here when the release is made.
